Personique® is excited to now offer our clients Microneedling with PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma), also referred to as Collagen Induction Therapy or the Vampire Facial. This procedure is ideal for the treatment of:
- Fine lines & wrinkles
- Uneven skin texture
- Skin laxity
- Acne Scars
- Surgical Scars
- Large Pores
This innovative procedure can be performed on the face or body, and on all skin types and colors. The premise of micro needling is simple – create a small wound and the body’s natural healing process will respond by producing new collagen and elastin to “fill up” these micro-wounds. Using your body’s own Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) essentially supercharges this effect. The PRP contains stem cells and growth factors that promote new tissue growth – specifically, collagen and elastin cells. The addition of PRP enhances and expedites the body’s repair process for improved results.
Ready to take the next step?
The first step in this treatment involves creating the controlled skin injury using a small handheld device that contains very fine needles. This device is passed over the skin in order to create precise, microscopic punctures in the skin. These micro-wounds stimulate the body’s natural healing process, prompting the skin to produce new collagen and elastin – the proteins that contribute to a plump, firm and youthful-looking complexion.
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)
PRP is your own concentrated blood plasma that contains platelet cell fragments enriched with potent growth factors along with other cytokines that stimulate the healing of soft tissue. In the body, platelets are responsible for helping the blood clot and rebuilding damaged tissue. Externally, platelets can stimulate your stem cells to grow new skin.
The platelets are collected by drawing a small amount of blood from your arm. The sample is then placed in a centrifuge which spins the blood at a high speed to separate the gold colored plasma from the rest of the blood contents.
Supercharge Collagen Growth
PRP can be applied topically to the skin or injected. With Microneedling, the tiny pinholes created in the skin provide channels for the PRP to penetrate deeper, working more effectively on a subdermal level. This allows the PRP to be absorbed into the skin more evenly for total facial rejuvenation.
Think of it like aerating your lawn when fertilizing. Microneedling the skin is similar to a lawn aerator punching holes through the grass and into the soil to ensure that air, water, and nutrients can properly penetrate the grassroots. Consider PRP to be like pouring the perfect fertilizer down the hole. In the case of this treatment, the PRP is able to penetrate deeper and works beneath the skin’s surface to activate new collagen, reverse skin damage, and smooth fine lines.
Microneedling with PRP Results
Most patients notice an immediate “glow” to their skin after Microneedling + PRP treatment, and visible changes to the skin will begin to develop over the course of several days and weeks. Results will continue to improve up to 6 months after the procedure, as collagen production continues.
The number of treatment sessions recommended achieving the results you desire will depend on the condition of your skin. Optimal results can usually be achieved in 1 – 4 treatments. Treatment sessions are typically spaced out 3 – 6 weeks apart.
