Case 10
This 34 year-old man has a saddle nose. The bridge of his nose is quite deficient perhaps from a previous injury but it is sunken in. He has requested that we build up the bridge. While there are a variety of methods to do this, including taking a graft of rib bone, a piece of plastic, silicone rubber or other materials, we chose to use Bioplastic which is very fine particles of solid silicone that are injected through a small needle to build up the deficiency. This was done as an outpatient under local anesthesia. It took about ten minutes total operating time. He is seen here two years after surgery with the bridge of his nose restored.
